Thales Alenia Space Italia Has A New Chief Executive Officer

[SatNews] The Board of Directors of Thales Alenia Space Italia (Thales 66 percent, Finmeccanica 33 percent) today appointed Donato Amoroso as Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Donato Amoroso is Chief Executive Officer

Donato Amoroso succeeds Elisio Giacomo Prette, who had headed this major Italian satellite systems company since 2013, and will continue to act as President. Mr. Prette will also be Senior Vice President for Human Resources at parent company Thales Alenia Space, a position he has held since the Joint Venture was established in 2005.

Born in Chieti, Donato Amoroso, 56, will also be Deputy to the President and CEO of Thales Alenia Space, Jean-Loïc Galle, with direct responsibility for the Observation, Exploration and Navigation (OEN) Business Line.

Until this appointment, Mr. Amoroso was with Alenia Aermacchi, a Finmeccanica Group company, as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President for Boeing Programs. Donato Amoroso significantly enriched his experience in this position, by working on advanced programs in an international environment.

Prior to this position he was general manager of the Caselle Torinese (Turin) plant, headquarters of Alenia Aeronautica's Military Aircraft Business Unit—now Alenia Aermacchi.
