Moving On Up... California Space Authority...


The California Space Authority (CSA) is pleased to announce the results of its 2009 Board of Directors Election. Of the six seats that were up for election, five members will be returning and one new member will be inducted.

Board members are selected from 3 regions consisting of Northern, Central, and Southern California. Terms are for three years, but are staggered to ensure continuity between elections. There are a total of 27 voting members on the CSA Board, representing a broad cross section of California's space enterprise community including leaders from industry, academia, government, military and workforce/economic development. The six newly elected and re-elected members of the Board of Directors include:
  • CELESTE FORD, Chief Executive Officer, Stellar Solutions, Inc., Palo Alto, CA
  • CHRISTOPHER HOEBER, Senior Vice President, Program Management/Systems Engineering, Space Systems/Loral, Palo Alto, CA
  • JAMES BOYLE, Site Director SLC-6, United Launch Alliance (ULA), Lompoc, CA
  • JAMES McGLOTHLIN, President/CEO, Quintron Systems, Inc., Santa Maria, CA
  • STEPHEN O'NEILL, President, Boeing Satellite Systems International, Inc., Los Angeles, CA
  • SUSAN SLOAN, Vice President of Mission Assurance, Space and Airborne Systems, Raytheon Company, El Segundo, CA

“An impressive complement of space enterprise community leaders are at the helm of CSA,” stated Andrea Seastrand, Executive Director. “Their dedication and devotion to maintaining California’s leadership position in the global space marketplace is an important asset and the men and women who work in the space enterprise community owe them a great deal of gratitude.
