SatStream... Collider Contact...
The organization and scientists across the globe hope this latest experiment will help answer unresolved mysteries of physics such as dark matter, antimatter, and the existence of Higgs Boson. SatStream will provide a satellite downlink live from the CERN control centre near Geneva and stream using new Adaptive Streaming technology, which essentially makes multiple quality streams available from a single link and adapts to changing conditions behind the scenes automatically without any buffering. Adaptive Streaming also gets around the usual firewall streaming issues as it uses port 80; the regular http browsing port; open on all firewalls. Ultimately, it delivers a seamless technical experience to the viewer, allowing the focus to be on the event content. The video postcard can be viewed on SatStream’s website on March 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. CEST (Central European Summer Time) at this direct link.
