[SatNews] On September 12th, at IBC2010, the World Teleport Association is going to present their look at the ever-changing world of broadcast.
The once predictable business of broadcast is morphing into a complex mix of business models, distribution technologies and evolving viewer communities and demands. The lines between traditional and new media have blurred. There is exploding demand for new content and greater competition for eyeballs, but the life of successful programming can be extended indefinitely. This creates exciting new opportunities, but also new risks, for content providers. In this panel, broadcast, technology and transmission experts explore ways to minimize risks and speed time-to-market by leveraging new technology and exploiting existing high-quality infrastructure. Moderated by Louis Zacharilla, Director of Development, World Teleport Association. Invited speakers involved in the 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. session include senior executives of SES, Newtec, and Showtime Networks. This event will take place in Hall 1 at Stand B11. The panel session will be followed by a cocktail reception hosted by Globecomm.
