COM DEV Provides Passive Microwave = Positive Bottom Line


[SatNews] Another contract further validates the robust health of the satellite industries.

COM DEV International Ltd. (TSX:CDV), a manufacturer of space hardware subsystems, today announced a contract to deliver hardware for a commercial satellite providing satellite TV and communications coverage over the Americas.  COM DEV will provide Ku-band passive microwave equipment for a total contract value exceeding US$5 million.  Work on the contract will be carried out at the Company's facility in Cambridge, Ontario with completion expected by March, 2013.

"This contract is an example of a longstanding customer placing an order that includes certain equipment they hadn't bought from us in the past, based on the excellent performance we can offer," said Mike Williams, President of COM DEV International Products.  "This is one of the ways we are working to grow our market share in commercial communications satellite equipment, where we already have a strong position."

COM DEV space hardware subsystems are sold to major satellite prime contractors, government agencies and satellite operators, for use in communications, space science, remote sensing and defense applications has facilities in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. COM DEV's majority-owned subsidiary, exactEarth Ltd., provides satellite data services.
