[SatNews] Euroconsult, the international consulting and analyst firm specializing in the satellite sector, has opened a U.S. subsidiary and has named industry veteran Susan Irwin as the President of Euroconsult USA Inc. The company also announced a strategic partnership with The Jones Consulting Group of Charleston, SC, to further develop Euroconsult’s business in the Earth observation and remote sensing business.



The Paris-based company opened its first international office in Montreal in 2008 to increase its focus on the North American market. The opening of the U.S. subsidiary is another step in Euroconsult’s long-term strategy of establishing a team of industry experts that can respond quickly to the wide-ranging needs of North American clients for due diligence, market analysis, strategic planning, policy assessment and other services. Euroconsult works with a range of clients throughout the satellite value chain, including government agencies, manufacturers, operators, service providers, and investors.

Euroconsult and Irwin Communications began partnering in 2008. Ms. Irwin has operated her own satellite industry consulting firm in Washington, Irwin Communications, for the past 25 years. She is also a member of the Board of Governors for the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC); a co-founder and Director Emeritus of the Society of Satellite Professionals International; Director Emeritus of the Arthur C. Clarke Foundation, and an Advisory Board Member of Near Earth LLC. Ms. Irwin began her satellite industry career in 1977.
