SES AMERICOM Signs On Another Transponder Transaction Treat

NSS-10 satellite SES AMERICOM-NEW SKIES, a division of SES S.A. (Paris:SESG) (LuxX:SESG), has announced at the ITW conference in Washington, D.C. that BT in Latin America has signed a three-year agreement for nearly three full transponders of satellite capacity to extend its IP network deep into the remotest regions of Brazil.

Expanding from 92 to 104 megahertz of highly reliable C-band capacity aboard SES AMERICOM-NEW SKIESNSS-10 satellite, BT is offering IP trunking services to link businesses based in Manaus and other rural stretches of Northern Brazil to its teleport and Internet access point in São Paulo. BT has also tapped a portion of the satellite bandwidth to support customer SCPC (single channel per carrier) and distance learning applications throughout Brazil.
