On The European Microwave Week Show Floor... Rohde & Schwarz Loading Up Their Products

The European Microwave Week (EuMW) trade event will run from October 4th through the 6th and in attendance will be Rohde & Schwarz to demo their T&M highlights for apps in the aerospace and defense, automatic and wireless industries in Hall S11, Booth 3, at ExCel London.

The company's focus will be on test solutions for satellite communications, for radar applications in the A&D and automotive sectors and for the nexgen of mobile networks 5G. For users in the satellite communications sector, Rohde & Schwarz will present their new R&S NRP(N) generation of power sensors. These sensors are especially well-suited to power measurements on directional and satellite radio components, thanks to their unique combination of USB and LAN interfaces on the same sensor. This makes it possible to bridge large distances between the DUT and the user.

A satellite link test solution based on the R&S SLG satellite load generator and the R&S BTC broadcast test center will also be showcased. The R&S SLG can generate up to 32 transponder signals or a single 500 MHz bandwidth transponder, enabling the efficient testing of components, satellite systems and receivers and the simulation of live video and data links in real time.

Additionally, researchers around the globe are seeking concepts and technologies for 5G wireless networks and Rohde & Schwarz already supports them with their T&M solutions. The setup to be showcased at EuMW, consisting of an R&S SMW200A vector signal generator and an R&S FSW85 signal and spectrum analyzer, offers the flexibility and T&M functionality required, for example, to test waveform candidates and new frequency bands for commercial wireless communications. Using the R&S TS 5GCS channel sounding software, the two instruments can also characterize the new wireless channels in order to determine their optimal use.

Once again this year, Rohde & Schwarz specialists will offering their expertise through a variety of technical workshops and basic seminars as part of the event program. The topics discussed at these events include for instance the challenges involved in millimeter-wave measurements, the generation of pulsed signals, phase noise, digital signal modulation, and fading and its effects.
