AeroGRID supplies high resolution data for more than 20 countries across Europe and North America. This agreement enables the company to significantly extend its coverage of up to date imagery across the world. DigitalGlobe currently operates two high resolution satellites, QuickBird and Worldview-1, which offer high-resolution, orthorectified imagery at 60cm — color and 50cm — black and white, respectively. The launch of WorldView-2 (46cm – 8 band colour) is scheduled for Q3 2009. This satellite constellation will offer unrivalled data acquisition capacity, intra-day revisit to any point on the Earth’s surface and capture of up to 2m square kilometers per day. AeroGRID partners operate 10 different survey aircraft and high-resolution digital cameras. Partners sell AeroGRID data within their own markets but all imagery is made available for purchase online. AeroGRID partners contribute aerial imagery data, and co-ordinate flying resources to their mutual benefit. New partners are welcome to join in order to extend coverage both in and beyond Europe to build the world’s largest commercial aerial imagery dataset.
