SPAWAR Spells Success For Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] is one of two companies awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific) to provide installation and engineering support to the SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific field activity in Hawaii.

Under this new indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, Lockheed Martin will offer a range of technical services to SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific at shore stations throughout the world and onboard U.S. ships in port and at sea. The main focus of these activities will be U.S. Navy operations in the Pacific Rim, including Hawaii, Guam, Japan and Singapore. Lockheed Martin and another company were selected to compete for up to $5.1 million during the one-year contract. The government may award up to four one-year option periods as well. The areas of work covered by this contract include engineering, fabrication, installation, logistics and administrative support, design, testing and evaluation, and rapid prototype development. Lockheed Martin will also manage the acquisition of commercial-off-the-shelf items utilized in turnkey operations of sophisticated electronics and communications equipment and systems. This award continues a long and productive partnership between the corporation and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command.
