PolarSat... More Enter The VSATPlus 3 Fold... (SATCOM)

[SatNews] PolarSat Inc. now has four more new customers who have purchased...

...VSATPlus 3™. One of the many applications that VSATPlus 3 is ideally suited for is in support of Command & Control / Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence,Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C2/C4ISR) systems. The VSATPlus 3 satellite modem core features of a hubless architecture combined with full-mesh connectivity are proving to be distinct and powerful as it continues to be viewed as a world-class satellite networking product by multiple users across this important application domain.

The VSATPlus 3 builds on PolarSat's tradition of providing bandwidth efficient satellite networks operating within mission-critical environments such as those typical to specialized governmental organizations, be it civil or defense. Unique to VSATPlus 3TM is the inherent flexibility of PolarSat’s proprietary hubless full-mesh IP network architecture based on its unique MF-TDMA radio frequency access technology. This flexibility allows for any type of connectivity between various elements of a C2/C4ISR system. More specifically, with its hubless network control algorithms that allow for geographic redundancy, the user is able to ensure no single point of failure. This disruption tolerant network technology is essential for supporting dynamic contingency operations in the field.

With its multi-carrier full-mesh IP connectivity, the VSATPlus 3 allows for adhoc networks to be extended seamlessly over satellite. Its multi frequency burst modem dynamically hops on up to 32 carriers in full duplex mode allowing the user complete flexibility on connectivity and bandwidth allocation across its network—resulting in a VSAT modem that is one-of-a-kind worldwide in enabling the rapid deployment, expansion, and redeployment of on demand infrastructure worldwide and various other mission critical applications.

The VSATPlus 3TM technology supports these advanced IP features within a low cost package, reduces both operating and capital expenses when compared to other satellite networking product offerings traditionally used in the governmental domain. Especially comparing the ease of use of the VSATPlus 3 to reduce training and support costs. The VSATPlus family of terminals provides hubless mesh connectivity that is easy to expand. The VSATPlusTM family continues PolarSat’s 25+ years of satellite modem experience to continue to provide a robust and reliable MF-TDMA, full mesh, hubless product.

"The combination of such a powerful feature set gives users of VSATPlus 3TM modems truly unique options in implementing their governmental/defense systems", said Ron Mankarious, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for PolarSat. "Our software defined modem combined with IP networking has allowed us to provide a highly sophisticated feature set that is reported by governmental customers as being the simplest product of its kind to maintain and operate."
