COM DEV Int'l... Upper Hand With UHF (SATCOM)

[SatNews] COM DEV USA, LLC, a subsidiary of COM DEV International Ltd. (TSX: CDV), has been awarded a US$6 million contract to provide UHF passive microwave equipment for a US Government satellite payload.

Design and production work will be performed at COM DEV USA’s manufacturing facility in El Segundo, California with delivery scheduled during mid-2012. Ultra High Frequency, or UHF, is a frequency band commonly used for military satellite communications because of its adaptability to small, mobile terminals used by ground, sea and air forces. “Demand for COM DEV USA’s legacy products remains strong as we see a continuation of existing secure communications programs in lieu of new program starts,” said Dan White, president of COM DEV USA. “The demand for UHF communications capacity to support US and international war fighters remains strong. This is the fourth contract for this type of subsystem won in the last year, confirming our leadership position in high power UHF technology.”
