Harris... Doing For The DoD (MILSATCOM)


[SatNews] Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS has received a $10.5 million order from the U.S. Department of Defense to supply Falcon III(r) AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radio systems.

The field-proven AN/PRC-117G provides the DoD with a software-defined, upgradeable platform that enables tactical communications networking, high-bandwidth applications and simultaneous voice and data feeds. The AN/PRC-117G is a NSA Type-1 certified wideband manpack radio system. With its fully integrated and NSA-certified High Assurance Internet Protocol Equipment (HAIPE) networking encryption, the AN/PRC-117G provides the highest level of information assurance connectivity to tactical units. The Falcon III AN/PRC-117G and Falcon III® family of radios are becoming widely adopted by the U.S. Department of Defense, federal agencies, and key allies. The AN/PRC-117G is a JTRS SCA-certified and NSA Type-1 certified wideband manpack radio system. With its fully integrated and NSA-certified High Assurance Internet Protocol Equipment (HAIPE) networking encryption, the AN/PRC-117G provides the highest level of information assurance connectivity to tactical commanders and deployed forces in the field. The AN/PRC-117G manpack radio development has followed the U.S. Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) program's Enterprise Business Model (EBM). The EBM encourages companies to develop next-generation solutions in tactical communications using their own investment capital. In doing so, the EBM encourages competition, increases innovation, reduces costs and speeds development of important capabilities.
