Putin Pushes Roscosmos


From the Russian TASS news agency comes word that Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday at a government meeting that his nation must retain and strengthen its positions in the space sector, including through more active participation in commercial projects—the meeting was discuss a dedicated strategy for the development of Russia’s state space corporation, Roscosmos, until the year 2030.

In Putin's words, it is necessary to develop Russia’s orbital grouping by increasing the number of spacecraft as well as improving  quality and reliability. Moreover, it is necessary to expamd the range of good and services offered by Roscosmos.

"Roscosmos should be more actively involved in commercial projects, it should make a wider use of innovations, expand production of science-intensive products and take more active effort to enter global markets," Putin said.
