M/A-COM Technology Solutions Amps Up... Small But Mighty...Amplifier For Ka-Band SATCOM

[SatNews] M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. in Lowell, Mass., is introducing the MAAP-011139 high-linearity 4-Watt power amplifier for Ka-band high-data-density satellite communications (SATCOM).

M/A-COM's MAAP-011139 RF and microwave device comes in bare die format and a 5-by-5-millimeter 32-lead QFN package. The device delivers 24 dB of linear gain, 4-Watts of saturated output power, and 23 percent efficiency.

The device provides greater than 27 dBm Pout/tone while maintaining IM3 levels of 30 dBc, which enables the MAAP-011139 to replace two equivalent competing alternatives with one device while operating in an overall more efficient mode, company officials say.

The device in bare die format and measures 3.1 by 2.8 by-0.05 millimeters for space-constrained applications.
