[SatNews] The Satcom Products group of Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI) has introduced multi-band capability in its Ka-band and Ku-band TWT and solid state BUCs at the Satellite 2014 Conference and Exhibition, held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.

This optional capability will significantly increase the ability of users to switch between different frequency bands using only one amplifier and BUC.

“Previously, users could only access one segment of the Ka-band or Ku-band frequency bands with a single BUC” said Mike Cascone, business development manager at CPI Satcom Division. “Now, using a single BUC, customers can switch for example, between the military and commercial segments in Ka-band, or between the Astra and standard Ku-band segment in Ku-band.” Up to four frequency band settings are possible.
