MakaLani, LLC of Hawaii has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with RapidEye AG of Brandenburg, Germany, to be the distributor in the United States of RapidEye satellite based optical data and services to the United States Government, focusing on the Defense and the Intelligence Community.

The agreement allows the companies to jointly create a comprehensive offering to a broad marketplace that includes defense,the intelligence community, and homeland security as well as other applications. The RapidEye satellite system — a constellation of five satellites capable of downloading over 4 million km² of 5 meter resolution, multi-spectral imagery per day, and a ground segment for processing and archiving data — allows for cost-effective and comprehensive satellite based optical data service. The unique combination of large area coverage, high spatial resolution, and the potential for daily revisits to an area of interest provide for superior geospatial intelligence solutions. MakaLani, LLC is a subsidiary of Honolulu Marine LLC, a Hawaiian owned and operated business certified as a Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO) within the SBA 8(a) program (13CFR124).
