PolarSat... Tolerating Disruptions And No Network Failures (SATCOM)

[SatNews] ...with its hubless network control algorithms that allow for geographic redundancy, the user is able to ensure no single point of network failure is ever present at any one time.

PolarSat Inc. has revealed that in 2013 multiple customers worldwide purchased VSATPlus®3 for use in command, control and communications; command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C3/C4ISR) systems. The features that are core to VSATPlus®3 continue to prove it be a strong satellite networking product by multiple users across this application domain. PolarSat can be located at booth, No. 1Y1-09, at Communicasia 2013, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, June 18-21.

The VSATPlus3 builds on PolarSat's tradition of providing bandwidth efficient satellite networks operating within mission-critical environments such as those typical to specialized governmental organizations, whether civil or defense.

Unique to VSATPlus3 is the inherent flexibility of PolarSat's proprietary hubless full-mesh IP network architecture based on its unique MF-TDMA radio frequency access technology. More specifically, with its hubless network control algorithms that allow for geographic redundancy, the user is able to ensure no single point of network failure is ever present at any one time. This disruption tolerant network technology is essential for supporting contingency operations in the field, and low cost application testing in the lab. The combination of low cost, ease of use, reliability and complete communication flexibility is proving to be a good fit for supporting C4I applications.

With its multi-carrier full-mesh IP connectivity, the VSATPlus3 allows for adhoc networks to be extended seamlessly over satellite. Its multi frequency burst modem dynamically hops on up to 32 carriers in full duplex mode allowing the user complete flexibility on connectivity and bandwidth allocation across its network resulting in a VSAT modem that is one-of-a-kind in enabling the rapid deployment, expansion, and redeployment of C3/C4ISR infrastructure.

The VSATPlus3 technology supports these advanced features within a low cost package, and the VSATPlus3 indoor rack-mountable (1RU) unit reduces both operating and capital expenses when compared to other satellite networking product offerings traditionally used in the C3/C4ISR domain.

The VSATPlus family of terminals provides hubless mesh connectivity that is easy to expand. The VSATPlus family furthers PolarSat's 25+ years of satellite modem experience with a MF-TDMA, full mesh, hubless product.
