[SatNews] Euroconsult has just announced the winners of its 7th Annual Awards for Excellence in Satellite Management.

These awards are the highest tribute in the satellite sector, awarded to leaders and their companies for outstanding achievement in several categories. They are presented each September in Paris at the World Satellite Business Week, the industry’s premiere senior executive event, now in its 14th year. This year, the award categories and winners are:

• Global Satellite Operator of the Year – Telesat
• Strategic Transaction of the Year – Viasat
• Regional Satellite Operator of the Year – Arabsat
• Broadband Satellite Operator of the Year – Hughes Communications
• Earth Observation Operator of the Year – GeoEye
