Pactel ROCKs In Western Australia...Latest Satellite Communication Advancements

[SatNews] ...demonstrated how to instantly deploy a fully operational network (enabling voice, video, data and wireless applications) with portable equipment.

Following the appointment of Mike Hipkins as the head of business development in Western Australia, Pactel International demonstrated the latest advancements in satellite communications technology to IT experts in the resources and EPCM sectors in Perth earlier this month.

Using the company’s latest development, ROCK (Remote Office Communications Kit), Pactel’s satellite engineers demonstrated how to instantly deploy a fully operational network (enabling voice, video, data and wireless applications) with portable equipment. Next, they discussed the effects of acceleration and QoS and their implications on corporate and welfare networks—all with real-time scenarios and existing case studies.

The delegates assessed the voice quality and latency over a satellite network as well as logged-in to an authenticated wireless portal—both provided by Pactel throughout the event. In addition, Pactel showcased their interactive Network Monitoring System (NMS), which provides real-time statistics and reporting, on the customer sites’ network behavior, bandwidth usage and equipment monitoring. “Getting the remote communications up and running quickly and seamlessly remains one of the key challenges for ICT and Project Managers”, says Mike Hipkins, Sales Manager at Pactel International. “I anticipate Pactel’s dedication to delivering satellite networks in a prompt, reliable and efficient manner will provide a perfect match with the customer’s expectations”.

Following the success and positive feedback received from the event, Pactel plans to continue with further demonstrations in Western Australia throughout the year.
