digiGO! — Vaddio Whips Up Web Casting System

Vaddio has supplied Total Webcasting, a full-service webcasting company, with a combination of Vaddio products to create a live mobile webcasting system called TW Media Cart.

Vaddio webcasting cart Since 2000, Total Webcasting has been producing and webcasting a diverse range of live events including government, educational, corporate, and sporting events. Back in 2007, Eliot Spitzer, Governor of New York, issued Executive Order No. 3; stating that every agency and public authority in the state of New York must webcast live via the Internet by July 1, 2007.

“Because of the immediate demand in live government webcasting our business tripled overnight,” explained President of Total Webcasting, Robert Feldman. “We needed to find a way to simplify and accelerate our solutions to meet all of the demand.” Initially, Feldman’s crew would travel from event to event similar to that of a roadie — Pelican cases and loads of equipment that required at least two to three people to unload, setup, and operate. When EO3 came to pass business got so demanding that Feldman had to rethink some of his day-to-day business routines. Things had to be simplified. Things had to be done quicker and with fewer human resources. That's when they located Vaddio camera systems.

Comprised of Vaddio’s ProductionVIEW FX, a PreVIEW Triple 5.6 LCD rack mount monitor, two Model 70 pan/tilt/zoom camera systems, a Quick-Connect 4 and an 8-Channel Audio Mixer with two boundary microphones, and a multi-format media encoder, the portable TW Media Cart webcasting system provides all the functionality to do a live webcast.

Vaddio’s ProductionVIEW FX standard definition camera control system incorporates seamless 6 x 2 matrix video switching, camera preset control and joystick control functionality into one easy-to-use console. The ProductionVIEW FX console controls the Model 70 PTZ camera systems, which use Cat. 5 cabling to power and control the cameras and send video to the ProductionVIEW FX, up to 200 feet, simplifying the set-up of the system for live events. The PreVIEW 5.6 LCD rack mount monitors provide clear, sharp video images of Camera 1, Camera 2, and Program. With the addition of the TW Media Encoder, value added services like content indexing, closed captions and viewer interaction, video can then be converted and streamed for easy distribution through a world class Content Distribution Network via the web.
