ISPCS has added tours of NASA’s White Sands Test Facility and Spaceport America to its program lineup in Las Cruces, New Mexico. ISPCS attendees will be at the epicenter of personal and commercial spaceflight during “Space Week in New Mexico”.
“We are creating opportunities for our participants to get close to the hardware, facilities and people who are involved in the commercial space industry in southern New Mexico. On Tuesday, October 20, ISPCS is offering tours of the NASA White Sands Test Facility with focus on their propulsion testing, materials and component testing and flight hardware processing areas. “This tour of the facilities will be individually hosted by the site managers and will be designed with the hardware vehicle developers and satellite developers in mind”, notes ISPCS Chair Patricia Hynes. This tour, co-hosted by the AIAA Commercial Space Group, will be an all day event, designed for people who want to possibly use these facilities in the future.
Capping Space Week in New Mexico on Friday the 23rd, ISPCS will host a “Hard Hat” tour of Spaceport America. “Not many people have had this unique and exciting opportunity,” Hynes says. “It will provide an unprecedented view of the world’s first purpose built commercial spaceport in its early development phase.”
