The Handler For Sky Go Is SES Platform Services

[SatNews] SES Platform Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SES S.A. (NYSE Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), has been contracted by Sky Deutschland to manage the technical operations of the recently-launched Sky Online service.

Sky’s new online service allows customers to watch content on-demand or streamed linear TV content at home and on the move, without having to sign up for a traditional payTV subscription. The new product offers two TV packages (Sky Starter and Sky Film), comprised of non-linear content and 12 linear TV channels. SES Platform Services will manage Sky Online’s linear offering, and will be responsible for encoding, packaging and monitoring the channels and implementing parental control measures. SES Platform Services manages a total of 25 live OTT channels for Sky Deutschland, 13 of which are on Sky Go.

“Sky Deutschland has emphasized its strength in innovation by launching Sky Online,” said Sophie Lersch, Chief Sales Officer at SES Platform Services. “We are delighted that Sky has decided to rely on our technical expertise and multi-screen encoding services for its latest OTT offer, just as it did for Sky Go.”
