Being Thermally Cognizant Is Now The Task For Domaille Engineering With Their New Lockheed Martin Contract

[SatNews] Domaille Engineering LLC has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract for manufacturing thermal management assemblies for the Space Fence Program from Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT].

Domaille Engineering provides for the design, development, manufacturing and testing of advanced mixed-technology applications, along with being a global provider of precision fiber optic polishing equipment. This award represents a continuation of the ongoing relationship between Lockheed Martin and Domaille Engineering in providing high tech, state-of-the-art manufacturing subsystems.

Space Fence, an advanced ground-based radar system, with its enhanced sensitivity to detect and track smaller targets, will greatly increase the currently maintained catalog of space objects. With better timeliness and improved surveillance coverage, the system will not only catalog the orbits of objects but also protect space assets against potential collisions that will ultimately multiply the debris problem in space. Lockheed Martin will deliver up to two advanced S-Band phased array radars for the Space Fence program. The Space Fence radar system will greatly improve Space Situational Awareness of the existing Space Surveillance Network.

Deliveries of the thermal management assemblies associated with this contract will begin mid-2015 and are expected to extend into mid-2016.

Executive Comment
Domaille Engineering President, Tim Kanne, said, “We have recently added new personnel to our skilled team to accommodate the aggressive production schedule and anticipate additional staffing growth this year and beyond.”
