Numerex Corp. (Nasdaq: NMRX), a source provider of secure machine-to-machine (M2M) products and services, has entered into a long-term agreement with Rogers Wireless, Canada's largest wireless provider and a subsidiary of Rogers Communications Inc., which will further enable the expansion of Numerex's M2M business in Canada. The agreement will allow the provision of extended capabilities to current Numerex customers such as access to General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and, potentially, High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA).
Numerex's GSM initiatives in Canada include high data rate transfers that are well adapted to the growing needs of the M2M customer. Numerex believes that its proven application tools and industry expertise coupled with Rogers' state-of-the-art technology will contribute to a fast and successful M2M expansion throughout the country.
