PACS Pact Provided To Integral Systems

Integral Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISYS), has been awarded a $1.1 million contract option to complete the modernization of the Polar Acquisition and Control Subsystem (PACS) command, control, and communications (C3) ground system for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

NOAA Polar satellite PACS, originally built and delivered by Integral Systems, Inc., has provided automated control of NOAA's polar satellite fleet for more than 15 years. Under the four-year, $4 million contract, Integral Systems has provided a critical technology refresh of PACS ground station hardware and software resulting in higher system performance and heightened security features. The PACS system provides command and control for satellites that support weather analysis and forecasting, climate research and prediction, global sea surface temperature measurements, atmospheric soundings of temperature and humidity, ocean dynamics research, volcanic eruption monitoring, forest fire detection, global vegetation analysis, search and rescue, and many other applications.
