The 71st International Astronautical Congress is Free of Charge to the Space Community

The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) has revealed that participation to the 71st International Astronautical Congress – the CyberSpace Edition — will be offered without registration fee, free of charge for a global community.

Since its first edition in 1950, the IAC has been the place for all space people to come together and discuss about the latest developments in space. In these challenging times, when physical meetings are near-impossible, the Federation, more than ever, is determined to play its unifying role for the space community.

This is why IAC 2020 – the Cyberspace Edition — will be offered at no cost. This will allow the organization to reach out to new communities and stakeholders that would normally not have the means or time to physically travel to an IAC.

The theme of the IAC 2020 – The CyberSpace Edition — will indeed be about the IAF Motto: “IAF Connecting @ll Space People”.

The IAF has understood that all the measures to address the COVID-19 pandemic that rely on social distancing and social isolation are placing a huge strain on communities. As the world is grappling with this massive challenge, the role of the Federation in the space community has become of paramount importance in connecting people back together.

Virtually and at no charge, the Space Community will embrace resilience by being connected together. The IAC 2020 – The Cyberspace Edition’s structure and program will be leaner and simpler than a regular IAC due to the event's virtual format. The 2-1/2 days of the IAC 2020 will revolve around the Global Space Governance, the Global Space Economy and the Global Space Advocacy, including 3G Diversity.
