digiGO! — The Digital (R)Evolution™

  • 2degrees NZ logo New Zealand's 2degrees mobile operator has indicated they will not be offering any 3G services in that country until at least 2010, this according to the Company's CEO, Eric Hertz. Yes, he stated, the cellco is fully 3G capable, but to ensure quality, additional testing and technology implementations are needed, all requiring additional time. The service platform will function on a W-CDMA base with HSPA+ built in, which should manage peak downloads at 4Mbps.

  • AT&T Logo Although the exact markets have NOT yet been ID'd by AT&T, the Company has initiated their switch on process for 3G services within the 850MHz frequency band. This will certainly boost their capacity as well as their network coverage areas and was brought about due to AT&T closing their AMPS and TDMA networks last year in February. This allowed additional wireless spectrum to become available. For those within the AT&T 3G delivery areas, better signals are expected.

  • Bridge Technologies has announced that Tor Karstensen has joined the company as marketing and design executive. Karstensen will assume overall responsibility for the visual identity and branding of Bridge Technologies. Karstensen has a deep and wide-ranging base of experience in visual branding and online presence development for clients including Sun Microsystems, Deloitte, and Glaxo SmithKline, and has founded two cross-media communications companies. He has also worked as a content developer in the Second Life virtual world platform.
