Powerwave Technologies... Wireless Flexing (Comms)

[SatNews] Debuting at CTIA will be new government wireless capabilities...

Powerwave Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:PWAV) will highlight at International CTIA Wireless 2011 this week the unique wireless capabilities of its RapidFlexMobile Deployment Unit (RMDU) and NexusRepeaters that benefit government public safety applications. Powerwave will be displaying important new government wireless capabilities that leverage its award-winning RMDU for remote surveillance camera and intelligence management applications. The RMDU is an integrated mobile communication basestation with telescoping antenna tower that can be deployed rapidly in remote locations or areas of congestion to create instant wireless bandwidth. The RMDU has been used in emergency and disaster communications, mobile data and command centers, satellite communications backhaul, and ship-to-shore communications. In addition, Powerwave is announcing the general availability of its new family of wideband Nexus FT-MIMO repeaters that support the North American 700 MHz commercial and AWR frequency bands for LTE® applications. These repeaters enable cost-effective application in indoor environments such as subways, airports, office buildings, shopping malls, stadiums and other large venues where reliable coverage is essential for public safety communications and operations. Powerwave’s Nexus FT repeaters feature a modular, robust and easy-to-install design, support for multi-carrier and multi-band operation, and offer high capacity and long-reach fiber optic distribution. This enables deployment up to 15 miles (25km) from an existing base station hotel, extending the coverage area of that base station and eliminating the need to install additional macro cell sites to cover larger geographic regions. Visit Powerwave at International CTIA Wireless 2011 from March 22-24 in Orlando, Florida at booth #2459 for complete information and demos of the company’s latest 4G infrastructure offerings.
