Meeting Media Conversion Needs Is Omnitron Systems

Omnitron Systems Technology has introduced their new X.21 and RS-530 serial Crypto Circuits fiber optic extension devices.

Omnitron's iConverter system Omnitron’s iConverter X21 serial-to-fiber media converters function as fiber optic modems for X.21 and RS-530 applications extending fiber links up to 120 kilometers and enabling extension of traditional circuits of wireline, DSUs, and SATCOM Antennas and radar Installations. The iConverter X21 is equipped to meet the most difficult challenges of Crypto interfaces on the Black and Red sides of Encrypted circuits. Crypto Circuits are notorious for having challenging timing and synchronization issues. Using advanced bi-directional adaptive clock recovery technology, the iConverter X21 overcomes these timing challenges making it ideal for the most demanding military communication applications. The iConverter X21 supports data rates up to 8 Mbps and is available as a chassis plug-in module or as a compact standalone unit. It can be powered from a variety of DC and AC power sources and supports a temperature range of -40 to +75 degrees C. Other key features include a plug-and-play design, with auto-configuration of baud rates, local loop-back for easy installation, testing and diagnosing of fiber and serial interfaces, and multimode, single-mode/dual-fiber and single-mode/single-fiber options. The unit is available with ST, SC, LC and MT-RJ fixed-fiber connectors or with modern Small Form Pluggable (SFP) transceivers and supports a variety of adapter cables for different physical interfaces.
