On the day prior to the main conference – Tuesday, September 13th – COMSYS offers a choice of 1 Day Workshops (VSAT Market & Technology Essentials or Satellite Communications Fundamentals). Additionally, the new GVF Maritime Satcom Forum will be holding their second meeting at the same venue on Friday, September 17th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. This will immediately follow the final session of the COMSYS VSAT2011 Conference. The Maritime Satcom Forum is an initiative that will address the growing need for satellite programmes in this increasingly important area of operations.
The GVF Maritime Satcom Forum serves as a unified voice for engagement with the maritime sector to promote the development of satellite networks around the globe and is open to all GVF Members. During the meeting, a buffet luncheon will be provided to pre-registered participants. The theme of the conference is ‘Space for Global Growth’ and Ka-band, high throughput satellites (HTS) and the infrastructure, partnership models and business strategies involved are the focus of this year’s exciting event.
