exactEarth Ltd... AIS Acumen (SATCOM)


[SatNews] Owned jointly by COM DEV International and HISDESAT Servicios Estratégicos S.A., this company will engage in some major monitoring exercises.

exactEarth Ltd., a provider of satellite AIS data services, has been awarded a Standing Offer to provide its exactAIS™ data services to the Government of Canada, with a total order value not to exceed $4.7 million. Under this agreement, the Canadian Space Agency may purchase exactAIS™ data for use across all Canadian Government departments to support a broad range of applications including maritime domain awareness, search and rescue, environmental and fisheries protection, Arctic monitoring and marine security. The Standing Offer provides for the purchase of either historical or operational exactAIS™ data services through the placement of specific purchase orders under the agreement. The first such purchase order has been received and is for the supply of exactAIS™ historical data valued at $1.57 million, and will be completed by March 31, 2011. The Standing Offer allows for the placement of further orders through until March 2013, however, the company expects that the bulk of the orders under this current agreement will be received within the next 12 months.
