ND SatCom... XWARP'ing Into BIT Award

[SatNews] ND SatCom, an SES ASTRA company, has received the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award 2010 in the Business Service Innovation category for its XWARP(r) solution, which provides IP applications / Cloud Computing over satellite.

XWARP® is the first satellite-based IT solution which offers geographically distributed companies or their IT service providers latency-free, satellite bandwidth-optimized software performance at the user front end for business critical applications such as SAP, Oracle, and so on. The GTB Innovation Awards recognize the world's innovators in the telecoms industry. Hundreds of nominations for the industry’s innovative projects were received from the readers of Global Telecoms Business since early in 2010. Guests at the ceremony included chief executive officers, chief technology officers and other leaders from operators and vendors throughout the world, including Europe, China, Africa, India, Russia, North and South America, and the Pacific. XWARP® is a unique combination of satellite technology with Citrix delivery/virtualization technologies. It is a solution consisting of Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop in the data center, an advanced SkyWAN® satellite router converged with a Zero Latency Engine, additional security enhancements as well as latency and WAN optimization features.
