FOR-A—Technology Showcase @ Satellite 2014 (Event—Of SatBroadcasting™ Interest)

[SatNews]  FOR-A has announced plans to display several highlights in its product range, including video encoder, signal processor, and frame rate conversion technology, at the upcoming SATELLITE Conference and Exhibition.

  • In its booth, FOR-A will showcase Fujitsu’s IP-920 HD/SD compact video transmission technology. Employing best-in-class video fidelity MPEG-4 AVC technology encoding (H.264), Fujitsu’s video encoder/decoder technology performs real-time transmission of HDTV at low bit rates over DVB and broadband IP networks. Capable of operating at less than 99ms back-to-back latency, the solution offers robust error correction and is ideal for HD/SD content delivery use. FOR-A became the sole North American distributor of Fujitsu’s high-performance encoders and decoders at the end of 2013.

  • FOR-A will showcase its FA-1010 and FA-9520 multi-channel signal processors at SATELLITE. Introduced last year, the award-winning FA-1010 signal processor offers 10 video inputs and outputs, multi-channel routing between sources, and effective video and audio signal processing for line, relay, reporting, production, editing and delivery applications. The FA-9520 3G/HD/SD dual-channel multipurpose signal processor provides frame synchronization, up/down/cross/aspect conversion, two channels of full RGB color correction, logo inserter functions and an automatic video optimizer.

  • Also to be displayed by FOR-A’s will be the MV-1620HS HD/SD/Analog mixed high resolution multi viewer. The compact (1RU) unit features a customizable layout, embedded audio level display for up to 16 channels per input, and title display of up to 16 characters per input. Additionally, the unit’s layout memory is capable of storing up to 16 layout patterns in the main unit, which can be selected directly from the front panel.

  • FOR-A’s FRC-8000 HD/SD frame rate converter will also be shown at SATELLITE. The multi-format unit offers motion compensation processing, automatic scene cut detection and up/down/cross conversion as standard features.

  • The LTR-120HS LTO video archiving recorder will also be on hand. Using high-quality AVC-Intra/DVCPRO codec and MXF wrapper/un-wrapper, the LTR-120HS records MXF files that can be used by a variety of NLE systems to LTO tape. Designed to enable “archive at ingest” solutions, the solution easily records video footage as an MXF file in real time.
