SES... Launch Discontinuation... Again (Satellite)

[SatNews] The launch of a Russian rocket to place the SES-4 satellite into orbit has been postponed from January 29th....

....indefinitely for technical reasons, officials have said. This is the second delay for the Proton-M launch, first scheduled for December 26 of 2011 but which was postponed for technical issues that involved the Breeze-M upper stage's rocket engines. A statement from Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, stated, "We are planning to carry out operations to dismount the Proton-M rocket from the launch pad and transport it to the integration building." The SES-4 satellite intended to be put into orbit by the Russian rocket was built by Space Systems/Loral for SES. The satellite is designed to provide various satellite services to customers in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Latin America. No reason for the delay was announced by Roscosmos and, even more telling, is that no projected launch date has been announced. As of this writing, there are no statements from SES regarding this disappointing news.
