PolarSat — Making A Mesh Of Things

PolarSat Inc. has successfully completed system acceptance testing and 6 months of live operation of a disaster relief VSATPlus 3 VSAT network.  The VSAT network has been established to prepare against future emergencies and natural disasters.

This regional network provides the forestry service early warning and fault tolerant communications in the remotest regions. This network is a key element in an overall system for the notification of incidents, coordination, reporting and dispatching of resources that enables the local and regional government agencies to deal with a disaster quickly and effectively.  The VSATPlus 3 will be displayed at the PolarSat booth #1450 at the Satellite 2010 exhibition being held at the Gaylord National Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland, March 16th-18th 2010. VSATPlus 3 salient features include hubless operation of mesh connectivity, Turbo Coding, integrated IP protocol enhancements, and Bandwidth-on-Demand functionality.  The VSATPlus 3 builds upon PolarSat’s 25+ years of satellite modem experience to continue to provide a robust and reliable MF-TDMA, full mesh, hubless product.
