The Nigerian parliament has pledged to financially assist Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) in its NigComSat 2 and 3 initiatives, which will help boost the country’s information and telecommunications sector, as well as boost the company’s financials.

Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu hailed the National Assembly’s move and said it would offer returns to both the company and the West African country. He stated, “The National Assembly will do everything to assist in the actualization of NigComSat 2 and 3 because it will not only help the country to become a contemporary of other nations but it is also commercially viable; it will also help us to be counted when technology issues are discussed.” He added NIGCOMSAT leaders should bring on board other stakeholders to enhance the success of the company’s initiatives.
