[SatNews] GeoNorth has appointed Mr. Jonathan Heinsius to the newly created position of Director of Sales, Federal Programs.

Mr. Heinsius is a seasoned sales and business development professional with more than 18 years of direct, hands-on experience in the geospatial and remote sensing industry.  In 1996, Mr. Heinsius began his career in the remote sensing industry providing technical support and services to US Federal and international customers for Core Software Technology; a provider of geospatial catalog and archiving systems.  His responsibilities at the time included the implementation, operation, and management of a network of remote sensing, data acquisition systems installed at over 15 ground receiving stations worldwide.  Mr. Heinsius eventually became Sales Manager to the US Intelligence community for TerraGo Technologies; a provider of desktop and server software designed to increase accessibility and distribution of complex, geospatial products and solutions to GIS and non-GIS users alike.  In May of 2010, Mr. Heinsius joined Intermap Technologies as Director of Sales, and was tasked with managing Intermap’s US Federal business, including its U.S. Defense and Intelligence clients.  Mr. Heinsius received his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies (Land Use Policy and Planning) from the University of California at Santa Cruz.

"Jon is exactly what this growing company needs—more people who understand what the end user is trying to do with geospatial data,” said Michael McCarthy, GeoNorth’s General Manager.  “Jon has spent a great deal of time being thoughtful about helping customers make better decisions with the type of information we provide."
