KRYTAR—Hybrid Offers Performance Of Many Functions (SATCOM—Coupler)

[SatNews] KRYTAR, Inc. has unveiled a new 90-degree, hybrid coupler that delivers 3dB of coupling over the frequency range of 1.0 to 4.0GHz in a single, compact package.

KRYTAR’s 90-degree hybrid couplers are designed to perform many functions, including splitting and combining signals in amplifiers, switching circuits, and antenna beam-forming networks used in a wide range of commercial and military applications. KRYTAR’s new hybrid coupler, Model 3010040, delivers excellent versatility from 1.0 to 4.0GHz with excellent phase and amplitude matching. Typical specifications include Amplitude Imbalance: ±0.6 dB; Phase Imbalance is ±6 degrees; Isolation is >17dB; Maximum VSWR: 1.30; Insertion Loss is <1.0 dB.

KRYTAR’s new hybrid coupler offers both L-band (1-2GHz) and S-band (2-4) frequency coverage in a single package which provides low insertion loss, high directivity and tight coupling. This new hybrid coupler offers a simple solution in many applications within those frequency bands including electronic warfare (EW), commercial wireless, SATCOM, radar, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beam forming, and EMC testing environments. For many space-restricted situations the compact size of this new KRYTAR directional coupler is ideal.

The Model 3010040 hybrid coupler handles 20 Watts of average power and 3 kW of peak power. This compact coupler measures only 3.16 inches (L) x 1.20 inches (W) x 0.50 inches (H), and weighs just 3.3 ounces. SMA female connectors are standard and N-type female connectors are optional. Operating temperature is -54°C to +85°C. This new coupler is available from stock to 30 days, ARO.
