OnAsset Intelligence + United Cargo... Belly Tracking (Comms)

[SatNews] This Company is a provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless asset tracking solutions and they have just announced....

....that United Cargo, the world’s largest belly carrier, is now accepting the OnAsset SENTRY 400 FlightSafe® device for transport on its entire mainline jet fleet of more than 700 aircraft, linking more than 370 worldwide destinations. The OnAsset device brings shipment tracking and security to a new dimension: providing location, environmental sensing, virtual security-fencing and temperature monitoring to cargo shipments transported on United’s unparalleled network. “It’s a potent combination for our customers,” said Robbie Anderson, President United Cargo. The SENTRY 400 FlightSafe delivers peace of mind, and enhanced visibility over several of our key products: UASecure high value, QuickPak and EXP express offerings as well as TempControl,” he added.

The SENTRY 400 is a highly advanced wireless, personal electronic device (PED) that includes multiple sensors for temperature, humidity, pressure, shock, location and vibration. The device also contains patented intelligence known as FlightSafe®. FlightSafe® uses multiple modes of sensing and proprietary logic to automatically suppress the device’s wireless radios to an “off” mode- ensuring safe and FAA- compliant operation during flight. Intelligent radio suppression is a patented feature and unique to SENTRY, making it the only wireless device capable of turning its radio on and off without human intervention. “Visibility to the condition of environmentally sensitive cargo as it moves through the supply chain helps companies proactively intervene in situations that may impact the quality of the cargo prior to reaching its destination,” said Adam Crossno, President and CEO of OnAsset Intelligence. “We are very excited to be working with United Airlines on the acceptance of SENTRY for air cargo to provide a solution that maintains its radio-off- mode for aircraft safety, while also providing automatic activation in order to safely transmit data logs to customers when the device is on the ground.”
