digiGO! — NAB: Utterances Of Wisdom From Globecomm Systems


Globecomm Systems Inc. has revealed that Tom Parish, Vice President of Broadcast Technologies, and Paul Scardino, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, will be speakers at the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference April 20-23 in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Both Globecomm executives will participate in the Content Distribution Forum (CDF).  The CDF is produced by NAB in association with the Society of Satellite Professionals International and World Teleport Association.  The CDF is an ongoing series of ongoing panels and presentations from the broadcast and content distribution industry's leading companies worldwide.  The Forum runs panel sessions continuously from a theater constructed by NAB in booth area C7348 on the exhibition floor Monday (April 20) through Wednesday (April 22). Tom Parish, who oversees the company's broadcast technologies operations, will be featured during the first panel of the 2009 forum on Monday (April 20) at 10:00 AM.  He will speak on a panel titled Media 2.0: One Show, Many PlatformsParish will be joined by colleagues from Cisco's Digital Media Networks group and others.  The panel will be moderated by TANDBERG Television's Vice President, Lisa Hobbs. On the afternoon of April 22nd, Mr. Scardino will serve as panel moderator for an hour-long session titled, In This Corner: the Data Center Vs. The Broadcast Center.  The panel will discuss the disruptive aspects of IP and how it is becoming the future of television.  Mr. Scardino's panel, which starts at 1:30 PM, will include Ovadia Cohen, a senior director as Harmonic; O'Brian McKinley, director of the Network Operations Center for PBS, and Sidney Skjei, President of Skjei Telecom.
