TechniSat Digital... A DAB Here, A DAB There (SatBroadcasting™—Digital Radio)


[SatNews] TechniSat Digital GmbH has confirmed its membership with the DAB Forum WorldDMB as of July 5th, 2010. The WorldDMB Forum is an international non-government organization whose objective it is to coordinate the implementation of all Eureka-147-based technologies, such as DAB, DAB+ and DMB.

The forum is dedicated to encouraging international co-operation and co-ordination between sound and data broadcasters, network providers, manufacturers, governments and official bodies, thereby gaining consensus for the smooth introduction of DAB based services. The Forum represents more than 80 companies and organisations from all sections of the broadcasting industry and from 25 countries. They include public and private broadcasters, DAB/DAB+/DMB receiver and other electronic equipment manufacturers; transmission providers; regulators and governmental bodies.

TechniSat Digital's development team has global knowledge and expertise in hardware and software design as well as PCB layout and mechanical development. With in-house R&D, TechniSat can quickly react to the needs of customers and the market. In addition to the competences in satellite reception technology, installation equipment, and IDTVs, the Dresden-based (Germany) R&D Centre has outstanding capabilities in the field of in-car entertainment and navigation systems. TechniSat has undertaken many projects to successfully provide equipment for cars of various marques including Skoda, VW, VW commercial auto and Seat. Products developed communicate with control devices in the car. The company's concepts have advanced to intelligent devices and systems with touch screen control and voice recognition.
