[SatNews] ARINC Incorporated announced its common-use passenger processing technology vMUSE™ has achieved certification to the aviation industry’s CUPPS 1.1 standard.
Certification followed extensive testing of vMUSE by Lufthansa Systems, recognized as the industry’s most stringent independent Compliance Testing Entity (CTE). ARINC also completed a successful beta test program of vMUSE in cooperation with Las Vegas McCarran International Airport. CUPPS (Common Use Passenger Processing Systems) is becoming the industry standard for uniformity in passenger processing platforms. CUPPS significantly reduces the time and effort necessary for deploying airline applications by standardizing the technical requirements, leading to cost savings and faster deployment. ARINC installed the first CUPPS platform in a live operational environment at Las Vegas McCarran in January of 2009. Today, the McCarran CUPPS installation has handled more than 250,000 passengers, proving that the ARINC CUPPS platform and ARINC’s vMUSE can easily handle multiple airlines’ applications written to the CUPPS technical standard.
