Two Wins For Advantech Wireless

[SatNews] Advantech Wireless has been awarded a prestigious blue-chip prize as Technology Company of the Year as well as the Vertical Impact Award—Broadcast, with both wins presented at an Excellence Awards ceremony, which was held at the satellite event in Washington DC last week.

Technology Company of the Year
For the satellite industry to maintain and grow its role in the overall communications and entertainment ecosystem, technology companies have to continue pushing the boundaries in order for satellite to complement and compete with other terrestrial technologies. This award recognizes a company that has raised the bar in 2014 in terms of satellite technology.

Building upon the success of Advantech Wireless' world leading 96 carrier MF-TDMA multicarrier demodulator, Advantech Wireless has developed the ground breaking technology of dynamically switching the access scheme (between MF-TDMA and SCPC) used in a VSAT network based on the traffic requirements at any instance in time to maximize bandwidth utilization—Adaptive Satellite Access Technology (A-SATTM).  The combination of the Advantech Wireless Ku-Band SapphireBlu™ UltraLinear™ GaN based High Power Amplifiers with a unique Satellite Antenna System Design, offers an unprecedented solution for Direct-to-Home (DTH) uplink systems.   Advantech Wireless is the only company capable of offering worldwide solutions, with impressive savings in energy costs, Satellite Bandwidth, CAPEX and OPEX.

Vertical Impact Award—Broadcast
Broadcasting remains the lifeblood of the satellite industry, with many operators still deriving the majority of their revenues from broadcasting. This award recognizes the satellite company that has performed most strongly in the broadcast area. Advantech Wireless is an expert in GaN based High Power Amplifiers and BUC’s technology and products. This disruptive technology allows remarkably high levels of performance and also impressive savings in CAPEX, OPEX, including energy cost. Advantech Wireless is now able to completely saturate all transponders on any satellite, with a single antenna and a single SSPA system.

“It is a great honor to be recognized and distinguished with not just one but these two prestigious awards, for our continuous pursuit of innovation, and in the process making people connect and communicate faster, more efficiently, at less energy cost and, therefore, making the world better, greener and friendlier around us. By introducing our breakthrough SapphireBlu™ GaN technology on a grand scale and our A-SATTM dynamically switching waveforms, we do just that. It is gratifying that our efforts and investment became a commercial success, and fully recognized by our customers, peers and the industry at large,” said David Gelerman, Advantech Wireless’ President & CEO.
