[SatNews] Locating and contracting representatives in regions far away from home base to ensure a presence in crucial markets requires a great deal of study... and, in the long run, a great deal of confidence and trust.
That is exactly what Colem has managed with their announcement they have appointed Carrick Communications Ltd as its agent for the Asia-Pacific region. “Colem’s Network Management Systems have been supplied to major operators in the satellite and broadcast markets in many countries over the past ten years,” commented Bob Gough, Managing Director, Carrick Communications. “We feel confident that we can consolidate and expand Colem’s Asia-Pacific market penetration and customer support from our base in Brisbane, Australia.”
Colem’s NMS systems range from very large systems covering multiple earth station sites and associated control centres (typically 5,000 data points), to civil and military mobile, flyaway and SNG terminals. In addition to more than 20 years of NMS experience, the success of Colem’s NMS systems is enhanced by the use of a market-leading, industry-standard core SCADA engine, used in all process control industries worldwide. This mature, well-supported system is in stark contrast to some NMS systems, which are based upon specific in-house software developments.
“We are delighted to be working with Carrick Communications,” commented Martin Coleman, Director, Colem. “The company has been operating in the satellite communications business since 1990, and brings a wealth of experience to assist Colem in the region.” Both Colem and Carrick will welcome visitors to Colem’s stand (Hall 6, Stand C28e) at IBC 2010 at the RAI in Amsterdam, in session from the 10th to the 14th of September.
