NAB... Compix — Generation Of The Graphics Kind (SatBroadcasting™)

Compix has released their CompactCG HD, the latest addition to the company's CompactCG line of full-featured portable CGs. In addition to supporting HD-SDI and SD-SDI operation, the new CompactCG HD boasts the feature set of a full-size system in a rugged 1-RU chassis, priced affordably. The CompactCG HD is ideal for channel-branding applications, with software options including NewsScroll with RSS, which provides the power of multiple crawls, logos, a real-time clock, live weather updates, ratings, and live RSS feeds, among other elements. The system's small footprint makes it a perfect fit for mobile broadcast and OB vans, fly pack systems, and multivenue use. With an elegant, intuitive interface for creating broadcast-quality graphics, the CompactCG HD also serves as a convenient and familiar solution in the rental market.

The new Compix system provides automated template-based graphics generation and real-time graphics overlay of live video in SD-SDI and HD-SDI productions. Support for 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios, Windows® IME (Input Method Editor) multiple language settings, and more than 1,000 pre-loaded TrueType® fonts enable true multilingual use and unlimited font styles. The optional AutoCast software package allows CompactCG HD users to generate and automate graphics playlists. Accepting data from external files, databases, and live Web-based feeds, the software integrates text and images from active input fields into predefined templates, eliminating the need for a dedicated operator to update automated graphic elements. Features including high-performance cooling ensure long, trouble-free operation, and an optional active input video relay bypass guarantees video pass-through in case of power loss. The single-channel unit features SMPTE 292M/259M-compliant inputs and outputs, supporting both 1080i and 720p HD with one full-featured CG channel.
