Bridge Technologies... Info Probe (SatBroadcasting™)

[SatNews] Bridge Technologies has incorporated significant enhancements to its microVB(tm) probe, including the addition of remote analysis capabilities.

Sitting at the end of the delivery chain, the compact microVB remotely delivers comprehensive real-time data about performance at the viewer's set-top box (STB), with enhanced capabilities now including powerful traffic analysis. Part of the company's VideoBRIDGE monitoring system, microVB is a breakthrough in miniaturized remote monitoring and analysis for digital media applications, and provides substantial savings in transport and technician costs for satellite, cable, and IPTV operators. The probe is the first cost-effective and technically viable solution for gathering continuous real-time data about performance at a viewers' STB. Measuring only 75 mm by 20 mm, microVB is small enough to be delivered to the customer by mail and features simple, plug-and-play installation.

Now with advanced auto configuration for plug-and-play setup and enhanced UI, microVB adds the final link in the VideoBRIDGE monitoring system chain by providing in-depth packet analysis for OTT services. This gives operators completely integrated end-to-end monitoring from satellite to set-top box. Upon installation between the STB and TV, the microVB automatically locates the MDC controller server on the operator's network and begins sending data, enabling deep packet inspection without requiring a technician to visit the customer's home to install the device or diagnose problems. Data from the microVB is received through the MDC server and presented in easy-to-understand visual displays via a standard web browser.
