[SatBroadcasting(tm)Latens announced that DISH Nepal, a payTV provider, has selected Latens CAS to secure content and revenues for their latest DTH services in Nepal.
DISH Nepal is planning to emerge as one of the leading forces in the Nepal DTH Market with the imminent launch of its DTH operations. The platform is expected to set a benchmark of content delivery and service in Nepal with an 80 Channel DTH platform that will ramp-up to more than 500,000 subscribers in Nepal and increase the digital penetration to more than 50 percent, which would be a first in Asia. Latens card-less Conditional Access Technology will be supported by STB and Middleware from Indieon and Arion. The subscriber management system is from Duo-Software and the combined solution will be implementing first-of-its-kind applications and business models at a fraction of the costs. The platform will have cutting edge implementations including USB-PVR, NVOD, PPV, Flexible Channel Subscriptions, EPG, to name a few. Latens’ CAS protects content across all networks, Cable, IP, DTH, DTT, be it one-way, two- way, or hybrid. This allows operators to use a single Latens CAS head-end for any type of network, making it a safe investment for operators expanding their payTV services across multiple distribution infrastructures.
