Avanti Communications + Syntelix—Connectivity Considerations (SATCOM—Capacity)

[SatNews] Spanish telco Syntelix, has signed a capacity contract with Avanti Communications for a series of public and private connectivity programs in Spain.

The partnership will begin with delivery of a major project for a government department at 96 remote locations across the country. Telecoms towers at each location will be served by Avanti Communications’ HYLAS 1 satellite, deployed to support high-speed telemetry and video surveillance. The solution, which will be tailored across radio FM, BTS 3G/4G and WIMAX/Wi-Fi links, will provide full remote control of all assets to end-users. Core applications will include: door access control, remote locking, video and sound surveillance, and energy supply monitoring.

Carlos Derqui, Chief Executive at Syntelix, said, “Our client requires a highly-secure service to boost security and establish greater control over multiple sites in Spain. Avanti has worked with us to develop a quality satellite-based solution, enabling us to permanently link sites in both urban and remote locations. We look forward to building on this with a subsequent rollout of broadband packages to our enterprise customer base this summer.”

David Williams, Chief Executive at Avanti Communications, said, “Combining the flexibility of Avanti’s Ka-band satellites with Syntelix’s expertise and technology, we have developed a quality solution for imminent deployment in Spain.”
