[SatNews] The Satellite Broadcasting & Communications Association (SBCA), has endorsed the Global VSAT Forum (GVF) VSAT Installation & Maintenance Certification Program and is promoting the training to the North American installer community as a valuable means of strengthening their involvement in the satellite communications sector.

The program involves both online and hands on assessments covering a full range of VSAT technologies. "For the North American installer community, this is a valuable opportunity on two levels," said David Hartshorn, Secretary General, GVF. "The global industry's VSAT installation training program will enable improved standards of VSAT system deployments, and it will equip all participants with satcom skills that will strengthen their professional qualifications as they pursue new business."

Delivery of the courses can begin immediately. Upon completion of the interactive online courses — which were developed by GVF's training administrator, SatProf, Inc. — trainees will be invited to take the Hands On Skills Test under the supervision of a GVF-Certified Examiner.
